Remembrance Day Ceremony - 2008 |

Unlike the campaigns of the allied war machine, the life of a secret agent was lonely, dangerous and demanding. They often worked alone, they could trust no one and the success of their missions depended on their ability to recruit and organize like minded people into teams to fight a clandestine war. The Camp X Historical Society and the Royal Canadian Legion, will again return to the wind swept slopes of Camp X to participate in a moving Remembrance Day Service paying tribute to those courageous men and women who were trained in subversive warfare and covert techniques, those who lived in the shadows and served with distinction abroad and at Camp X. The Camp X Historical Society invites you to return to the Whitby Centennial Building, Camp X Museum, 416 Centre Street South, Whitby where the Society and its membership will have the new museum open for viewing. Veteran agents and communication experts will also be on hand to discuss the history and purpose of the rare artifacts on display. Please join us as we pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the supreme sacrifice in the Secret War. Remembrance Day Ceremony at Camp X (Intrepid Park) Tuesday 11 November 2008 - 10:45 am.
